This kit for for a necklace that uses some usual beads that have been braided using two traditional Japanese braiding structures and two different braiding techniques.
It starts with the 8 strand Kongo Gumi, converting to a continuous beaded Edo Yatsu (which creates the textured focal section) before reverting to the Kongo Gumi braid.
This is an intermediate project, with a prerequisite of previous experience in working beaded 8 Strand Kongo Gumi.
The kit will contain the layout pattern and all the necessary beads, S-Lon threads, Cord caps and Clasp, as well as the instructions for combining these 2 braids..
Knowledge of how to engage beads in an 8 strand round Kumihimo braid would be advantageous to get the most from this project.
You will need to supply your own Kumihimo equipment i.e. Kumihimo Disk, 8 x Bobbins, 45g Kumihimo weights (or bag of coins weighing 45g) and Zap Gel Glue. If you need any of these items, please look under Kumihimo equipment, where you will find a selection.
