A gentle Ombre lariat based around some stunning Big Hole Lampwork beads by Juliette Mullet, Christine Wilson and Debbie Dew. Each beaded braid and tassel has been co-ordinated to match these amazing unique beads. There are a combination of 2 and 3 colour Ombre braids.
Made with Size 11/0 seed beads, this is a delicate, lighter braid than my usual Lariats.
The kit will contain all the necessary Beads and S-Lon threads as well as the instructions to make a beautiful Kumihimo lariat.
Knowledge of how to engage beads in an 8 strand round Kumihimo braid would be advantageous to get the most from this project.
The loading pattern quoted in this tutorial will make a braid approximately 35.5’’ (90cm) long. The lariat will have a drop of approximately 20’’ (51cm) long, including tassel when worn. The final length can always be adjusted by adding or removing some of the beads.
You will need to supply your own Kumihimo equipment i.e. Kumihimo Disk, 8 x Bobbins, Kumihimo weights (or bags of coins weighing 90g and 45g) and Zap Gel Glue. If you need any of these items, please look under Kumihimo equipment, where you will find a selection.
